Back to Normal

Friday night Claire and Lily had 3 little girls over for a sleepover. God be praised, they went to bed and were asleep by 11!
Saturday Lily was so exhausted that she pretty much cried from 5 p.m. to 9, when she fell asleep. The movie The Incredibles, is like a pacifier for Lily. We verbally re-enacted scenes from it until she calmed down and fell asleep.
Sunday morning at church our pastor talked about taking risks and getting involved, serving. We are already planting a new church here in Round Rock, and the church is only about 2 years old. We are sacrificing 10 families to go plant the church.
Then, we dropped the kids off at my parents' house. I listened to my iPod shuffle (for the second time) and sewed the button back on a great corderoy jacket I got for $2 at a yard sale. Then James and I went to Zilker Garden Festival where he was a speaker! His topic was "Garden Design Using Organic Texas Natives." It was very exciting- his name was in the folded brochure/schedule/map and he had an audience of over 60 people. It was his first time speaking in public, so he was a tad nervous. I relished, in the way only a wife can, the experience of him being vulnerable and less than confident. It is quite seldom- even officially rare- to see James not fully confident and ready to roll over anyone. He did great-- had lots of note-takers and head-nodders and questions at the end.
And this morning we did grammar, cursive, and 2 history lessons .... WITH NO WHINING! Hallelujah!
