Early Education

Check out this article on Head Start programs and government intervention for earlier education. It seems like a common vein for the article was: the kids who spent their very early years in a state preschool were angrier. To me, it seems like the kids who stayed with a parent or family member were given more loving attention, not paid caregivers.

The goal of mandatory preschool isn't to educate kids; it's to give the parents free childcare. The kids who stayed home were on equal standing academically by first grade. Let them play for a few years!

I'm so pleased you are reading Higher Education!
