Art Tips

Vermeer, Girl With a Pearl Earring

We hope that a product of a whole education would be able to appreciate art- all the different kinds. Sometimes we may feel like art, both the hands-on experiences, and the appreciation instructions, may fall by the wayside when we are focused on math and writing, history mastery, character formation and instilling discipline and a work ethic.

But dabbling in art appreciation and trying out a few art projects is something that is pretty easy to work in every month or so. Here's a few ideas.
  • talk about the art you see in the picture books you read
  • point out beauty you see in advertising and everyday life
  • just dive in and figure out new art techniques with your kids!
