We homeschool because we want to be the primary force in the shaping of our children's character.  We believe that success in family can ensure success in the other areas of life. Plus, their childhood years go by so fast -- we can't imagine sending them off to spend their day elsewhere. We follow the classical method of education, and base our methods on the book The Well-Trained Mind.

Elizabeth Elliot says “This job has been given to me to do. Therefore, it is a gift. Therefore, it is a privilege. Therefore, it is an offering I may make to God. Therefore, it is to be done gladly, if it is done for Him…. Here, not somewhere else, I may learn God’s way. In this job, not in some other, God looks for faithfulness.”

And keep in mind this excellent quote from Phyllis Diller: "Cleaning the house while the kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk while it's snowing."
